Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all. All of our charters are fully captained — your USCG-licensed captain handles all sailing, navigation, and safety. You simply relax and enjoy the ride. No sailing experience is required whatsoever.
No — Amihan Charters is for the full LGBT community. We welcome gay men, lesbians, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, and queer guests, as well as LGBT-allied friends and partners. Some of our group events are gender-specific (like the Men's Getaway and Women's Getaway sails) but our private charters are open to everyone in the community.
All private charters include: exclusive use of the vessel, your USCG-licensed captain, European-style breakfast and light lunch daily, non-alcoholic beverages, snorkeling gear for all guests, paddleboards, a dinghy for shore excursions, bedding and towels, and fuel. Dinner is not included — guests can dine ashore or add a private chef for onboard dinners. A premium bar package and first mate service are also available as add-ons.
Nassau's Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) has direct flights from 30+ US cities including Miami, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and more. It's just a 50-minute flight from Miami. We can arrange airport transfers to the marina on request.
We operate peak season only — November through April. This is the driest, coolest, and most pleasant time of year in the Bahamas, with consistent northeast trade winds (our namesake amihan!), lower humidity, and minimal chance of storms. Temperatures average 75–82°F.
We recommend booking at least 3–6 months in advance, especially for peak dates like Christmas/New Year, Spring Break, and around Pride events. Our inaugural 2026 season will fill up quickly — we encourage you to reach out early.
Same-sex activity is legal in the Bahamas, and Nassau has a well-developed international tourism infrastructure that is broadly welcoming to LGBT visitors. On the boat, you are in a completely safe, explicitly LGBT-affirming space. We're there to ensure your experience is celebratory and comfortable throughout.
A 25% deposit secures your charter dates. Cancellations made more than 90 days before departure receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations 30–90 days before receive a 50% refund.
